FAQ | MAKEUP
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK IN FOR MY WEDDING?
I would suggest booking in as soon as you have set your date for your wedding as I can get booked quite quickly.
DO YOU TRAVEL?
Yes I do. I mainly travel around the Bay of Plenty for weddings, but you can always message me if you are located else where.
I only travel if there are 3+ clients at the same location, otherwise I am home based.
Travel within Rotorua: $20-$50
Travel outside of Rotorua: $0.95 per km from my home address
WHAT MAKEUP PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?
I use a range of high end products such as Nars, M.A.C, Huda Beauty, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Mecca Max & more.
HOW LONG WILL MY MAKEUP LAST?
Your makeup should last you all day as long as you’re not wiping/smudging your face.
I use long-lasting, waterproof/resistant makeup to ensure your makeup will last until the end of the night.
I provide a mini touch up kit for everyone in your bridal party so that your makeup can stay looking fresh all day.
HOW DO I SECURE MY WEDDING DATE?
After we have discussed if I am available, a non refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. This is to ensure no one else can book your special date.
DO I NEED TO BOOK A BRIDAL TRIAL?
It is totally up to you if you want to book a trial, but it is recommended.
It can help if you are indecisive or want to make sure that you are happy with your look before your big day.
If you do want to book a trial, I suggest booking it 2-12 weeks before your wedding day.
DO YOU SUPPLY LASHES?
Yes I do! I use individual lash clusters. They are long lasting, and more comfortable than strip lashes, They can be natural or dramatic as you like.
I do have strip lashes if you wish to use those instead. Just let me know before your appointment.
Lash extensions are a great option if you have watery or sensitive eyes and if you want your lashes to last for longer than just a day.
IF I GET A SPRAY TAN, SHOULD I TAN MY FACE?
I would recommend not to put tan on your face as it can sometimes make the makeup look muddy, otherwise just a light spray over the face is fine.

(doctor's letter must be presented to me before your appointment)
IS IT PAINFUL?
The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. I will apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure.
Everyone responds differently to anaesthetic; depending on the client.
Topical anaesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. It can feel similar to a light sunburn. You are able to take Tylenol or paracetamol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
I will ensure that you are comfortable during your procedure. Clients are usually pleased to discover that it is no more painful than tweezing or threading.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Initial treatment
For the first powder brow session, the entire procedure should take about 2.5-3 hours.
During this session, I will shape and style the your brows of your approval followed by pigment colour selection. I will ensure that you are happy with your brows before proceeding with treatment.
Follow-up treatment
The second powder brow session takes place 4-6 weeks after the initial session. This session will take approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete.
DO MY NATURAL BROWS HAVE TO BE SHAVED OR REMOVED?
No! Please do not tweeze, thread or wax your eyebrows in any way for as long as possible, and no sooner than two weeks. The more hair the better!
I will create a brow shape that follows your natural hair growth and suits your face.
Your can continue to tweeze, thread, wax and/or tint your brows once they have healed.
AFTER MY INITIAL TWO SESSIONS, HOW OFTEN ARE TOUCH-UPS NEEDED?
An annual touch-up is recommend to maintain your brows. Ultimately, it is up to you when you decide to come in for your touch up.
Clients with oilier skin will notice that it tends to fade quicker than those with dryer skin. Following your appointment I will make sure you have all the information you need to care for your new brows. Long-term care is crucial to the longevity of your brows.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and colour will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The colour will fade by up to 40% as it heals.
In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the treated area.
The eyebrows will lighten up in colour as it heals. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the colour to fully set in.
